Siddhartha: Questions
5 - What is the Gap in the Buddha`s teaching according to Siddhartha. Why doesn't Siddhartha join Buddha`followers?
According to Siddhartha the Gap in Buddha' teaching is your teach about the overcoming of the world, about deliverance. And that small gap, that small break shatters and abolishes the whole eternal and unified law of the world. (Page 31). He doesn't become a Buddha' follower because he believes that there is one thing that the Teaching does not contain: the secret of the own experience. He knows that that are no better teacher than Buddha, but he decides to leave all teaching and all teachers, to reach his goal alone or die.
